I’m Sara. I love sailing and writing, and I tend to get obsessed with things like celestial navigation, sextants, and harnessing the power of wind to propel velocity (not to mention Oxford commas). If you haven’t surmised by now, I’m also a massive nerd. Like, a Coke-bottle-glasses-wearing, Infinite Jest-obsessed, hyper-analytical nerd; masquerading as an extrovert.

I flourish while navigating uncharted territory, and I embrace the entrepreneurial spirit, much as my sailor Viking forebears. I have broad experience in both finance and editorial, and am blessed with the ability to create and execute innovative strategy while also crafting compelling content to inspire.

I’m a veteran media producer, strategist, analyst, and community cultivator, and have worked with clients like Red Bull, Maui Jim, and Microsoft. I’ve pioneered in digital media since founding an online magazine in 2000 and have since fine-tuned editorial skills in print and digital publications like Young Entrepreneur, Resident Advisor, Flavorwire, XLR8R, and American Songwriter. As a journalist and editor, I bring years of experience in recognizing the essence of story to each of my marketing campaigns—and I expertly craft both strategy and narrative for brand storytelling.

I also consult with start-ups and entrepreneurs as an interim Chief Marketing Officer.
